Born on 5 December 1981 in Walita, north of Ethiopia. First of 4
brothers. He moved to Israel in 1991. He and his family left Awassa
(South of Ethiopia), walking thousands of kilometers to Addis Abeba.
They lost many friends and relatives during the trip. They eventually
waited in the capital city during 5 months before being sent to Israel
during an operation called "Operation Salomon". For eight months they
stayed in Kiryat Shmona without any contact with Israeli population
because the government thought they needed some adaptation period
first. Then they were moved to live in caravans near Naharia, and in
1995 they finally arrived in Ramla where they were supposed to live
since 1991! Sirak went to a boarding school near Kefar Saba, where it
was hard to be accepted. He got his Diploma in 1999 which was followed
by military service. Then he studied acting in the University of Haïfa.
In 2004 he participated in a reality show on Israeli TV and was chosen
as best actor in this "project". He eventually starred in Mihaileanu's
film _Va, vis, et deviens (2005)_ and is currently a presenter for a children show on
Israeli first channel.
